Born in Seoul, South Korea
Lives in Scottsdale, AZ
I moved to Scottsdale in 2017, taking a new position at Arizona State University. I was formerly a faculty member at Iowa State University since 2006 in the Interior Design Department. My background and expertise span several disciplines including architecture, urban and regional planning, education, interior design, and the fine arts. I find satisfaction in investigating the details, the connections, and the contrasts to these many faces of design. It is this balance between research and craft, between the purposeful and the intuitive, and between science and art that provides richness and meaning to my actions, thoughts, things, and language.
